A new fund raising campaign from the Rock County Cancer Coalition hopes to raise more money in the fight against cancer.

Executive Director Lucy Beckord says they came up with a simple idea to raise funds, asking everyone in the county who has been impacted by cancer in someway to donate $20 to the coalition.

Beckford says they’ve seen a gradual increase in applications for grants funds, having written more than $100,000 in grants in the last three months alone.

Beckford says while it’s nice to see an increase in applications, they need to raise more money so they don’t have to turn applicants away due to a lack of funds.
