A 20-year-old Janesville man is free on a $25,000 signature bond after being charged with five counts of possession of child pornography in Rock County Court.

According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a Snapchat account belonging to Brandon Reitan which contained images and videos of prepubescent girls.

Janesville Police say Reitan’s Snapchat history showed he had asked other members for child pornography and saved child pornography on the platform

Officers obtained a warrant and searched Reitan’s home where they found the phone he used to log in to Snapchat.

Janesville Police say Reitan admitted to receiving child pornography because he thought he could make money off of the videos.

He’s due back in court February 23rd.
