A Beloit police officer is being credited with saving the life of a child. Beloit Police say two officers were performing a traffic stop on the city’s west side Friday night, when a woman came running towards them screaming for help. The woman was holding a two-year-old girl who was not breathing. The woman said the girl may have been choking on a piece of pizza. One officer began performing back slaps on the child, while the other officer called for EMS. After a minute or so, the little girl began crying. The woman told Beloit police she was babysitting the girl when she started choking. She saw the lights of the squad cars and ran for help.
