The Janesville Youth Hockey Club is hosting a Try Hockey for Free Event March 11th to get kids interested in the sport.

JYH President Justin Wiskie says sometimes hockey can be an intimidating sport to get started in, so the event offers a stress free opportunity for kids to see if they might like it.

Wiskie says kids will be provided with a helmet, skates, a stick, and hockey gloves if they want them and kids should wear loose fitting but warm clothing so the equipment can fit underneath.

Wiskie says people can register the kids aged 4-9 at the JYH website or by visiting their Facebook page.

The Try Hockey For Free event will take place from 10:15 to 11:45 and the Janesville Ice Arena.
