On the eve of International Women’s Day Wednesday, the Beloit City Council declares March Women’s History Month.

Council Vice President Nancy Forbeck read a proclamation at this week’s meeting.

Forbeck says despite their contributions, the role of American women in history as been consistently overlooked and undervalued.

Forbeck says women were particularly important in the establishment of early charitable, philanthropic, and cultural institutions in the City.
