
The Public Service Commission approves a 30 percent increase in water rates from the Whitewater Municipal Water Utility.
Finance Director Steve Hatton says the City had to build a new water tower after a 2017 study found the need to replace two more than 100-year-old reservoirs.
Hatton says the City spent more than $3 million on the water tower and completed two major street reconstruction projects.
The average residential water customer who uses 3,000 gallons a month can expect to see a $7.27 increase on their bill starting April 28th.
