The 19-year-old Janesville man accused of stabbing his blind father’s caretaker almost to death takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.

Asher Spitz plead guilty to a single charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide Friday afternoon.

Judge Jeffrey Kuglitsch found Spitz guilty but not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

He was ordered to be be committed to the Winnebago Mental Health Institution until sentencing on May 26th.

According to the criminal complaint, Spitz lured the 19-year-old victim into the basement of a home on North Orborne Avenue on October 19th, under the guise he need help with laundry.
