Riders of Janesville’s Transit System can now make full use of the newly renovated Transfer Center downtown.

Transit Director Becca Smith says the facility fully opened last week and upgrades include roof replacement, adjustments to make it ADA accessible, additional restrooms, and refurbished lobby, bathrooms, and dispatch room.

Smith says she’s proud of the project and residents will be able to more efficiently and safely use the city’s transit services.

The work represents a $1.5 million investment in transit services in downtown Janesville.
