The City of Beloit is planning reconstruction of a busy chunk of West Grande Avenue this summer.

City Engineer Scot Prindiville says the first phase of the project will cover Hackett to Eighth Street and will see new pavement, curb, gutters, and driveway aprons; along with a portion of water main being upgraded to 8 inch PVC pipe.

Prindiville says the stretch of road being worked on this Summer is right near Hackett Elementary School, so they’ll be working shortly after school gets out and he anticipates the project to wrap up in a couple of months before school starts again in the fall.

The city is holding a public information meeting for residents to learn more Wednesday night at 5:00pm at Hackett Elementary School.
