April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois is holding a number of events to raise public awareness.
Volunteer Coordinator Jen Wichita says they’ll be holding a pair of writer’s workshops at the Monroe Theatre Guild on April 22nd and 23rd from 10:00 until 2:00pm, as well as a bingo night at the Hedberg Library on April 24th from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
Wichita says they wanted to find fun events to be able to highlight SAAM, but the workshops not only raise awareness but work as a resource to help people through trauma while celebrate being survivors.
People can register for the events and find more info on the Family Service’s website.
