A local non-profit is working with the Wisconsin Partnership for Housing Development to construction transitional housing for homeless families.

ECHO Executive Director Jessica Locher says the Janesville Plan Commission approved the construction of three duplexes on Monday night.

Locher says the two and three-bedroom town home-style duplexes will be in the 4th Ward and Look West neighborhoods.

Locher says the goal is to have construction completed by early 2024.
