Sign up opens Monday for Rock County’s Clean Sweep Program.

Rock County Conservation Specialist Anne Miller says the main program is for household hazardous chemicals like oil based paints, old gasoline, pesticides, and mercury.

Miller says people need to take precautions when handling these materials and wear rubbers gloves, a mask, and use heavy duty clear plastic bags to handle the materials.

People can sign up and find more information about what is and isn’t accepted by visiting the Rock County website.
