A local youth Lacrosse club is looking for a school district to call home.

President Jeff Reuter says the Janesville Lacrosse Club has about 117 players from elementary age, all the way up to high school. That includes kids from Janesville, Beloit, Milton, and Fort Atkinson.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association’s vote in January to make Lacrosse a Varsity sanctioned sport could mean the demise of the team.

Reuter says the Janesville Lacrosse Club needs one of the schools to sponsor it in order to continue playing the other WIAA teams during the 2023 -2024 school year.

Reuter says the club has reached out to the Schools Districts of Milton and Janesville in the hopes of receiving a sponsor, but so far they haven’t had any luck.
