The Wisconsin DNR is encouraging those in Rock County to get out this weekend and head outdoors as part of their 11th Annual Free Fun Weekend.

Director of Parks and Recreation Management Steve Schmelzer says it’s a great opportunity to visit a new or old part of the state as state park admission fees, fishing licenses, and trail passes will all be waived Saturday and Sunday.

Schmelzer says it’s a great time for people who have thought about getting into fishing or making a return to angling as they’ll have free equipment loaner kits available at the Rock County offices on Newville Road in Janesville.
