The Special Olympics come to Whitewater this weekend, and law enforcement from around the state will take on the final leg of the annual torch run.

UW Whitewater Police Lieutenant Jason Burt says the run will begin at Cravath Lakefront Park at 5:30pm, traverse through downtown and the UW Whitewater Campus, and conclude at Perkins Stadium.

Burt says the public is encouraged to participate in the run as well, and they can register and donate online, then gather at Cravath Lakefront at approximately 5:00pm.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a program which raises funds and awareness for the Special Olympic games.
