Janesville’s Rockport Pool Open Swim can be overwhelming and overstimulating, so the city’s recreation division has come up with a solution.

Recreation Programmer Elaine Noffsinger says the Adaptive Swim program is for anyone with special needs and their families, admission prices will be the same but they’ll be turning off music and closing the concession stand so there is less stimulation.

Noffsinger says the water is great environment for those with special needs, and they wanted to be able to provide a safe environment since coming to a regular open swim can be daunting.

The program starts June 17th and will run every Saturday from 10am to 11:30.
