The 2nd Annual Fireball Pickleball Tournament in Janesville is taking advantage of a meteoric rise in popularity with the sport.

Janesville Pickleball Board of Directors member Craig Hurda says in the mid 2000 and teens the sport was a very niche sport with roughly 3 million participants a year, and in 2022 there was 35 million people regularly playing Pickleball.

Janesville Pickleball Club member Lisa Hurda says due to the amount of courts and how long it will take to get through the amount of teams, the tournament will be mixed doubles and there will be two different skill levels.

The tournament takes place July 1st and people can register by visiting the Janesville Pickleball Facebook page.
