A local state legislator isn’t afraid to voice his disappointment in the two-year state budget that passed his chamber this week.

State Senator Mark Spreitzer says there was no funding for the proposed Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center in Janesville, or a new engineering building on the UW-Madison campus.

The Beloit Democrat says the top issue that constituents contacted me about over the past six months was addressing our state’s child care crisis by extending the successful Child Care Counts program.

Republican State Senator Steve Nass of Whitewater also voted against the $99 billion 2023-25 budget.
