The Rock County Sheriff’s office is putting a slow no wake restriction into place in Janesville during Fourth of July Celebrations Saturday.

Deputy Trevor Lund says they were contacted by city of Janesville officials, and because of the Star Spangled Saturday Celebration taking place Saturday the slow no wake will run from 5pm to midnight from the West Highway 14 Bridge to the West Centerway Street Dam.

Lund says things can get chaotic and sometimes dangerous on the river during these celebrations so the slow no wake is put into place just in case an accident does occur between two boats, it won’t be life threatening.

Lund says the Sheriff’s office boat patrol units will be out to enforce safety violations and the ordinance.
