The bald eagles who have settled down in a nest near Marling Lumber in Janesville officially have names.
Hoo’s Woods Raptor Center Director Dianne Moller says they decided to hold a contest to come up with names for the birds and received more than 175 submissions for the contest.
Moller says the male bird will be named Marshall after Marshall Middle School which is located near the nests, and the female will be named Magnolia after the flowers which are located in the nest area.
The two girls who submitted the names, Paige Noreen and Roo Lindgren, received gift bags from Hoo’s Woods & Marling Lumber including a special Hoo’s Wood t-shirt and water bottle, a Marling Lumber cap, pencils and notepads.
