The City of Janesville has issued their HUD environmental assessment for the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.

Housing Director Kelly Bedessem says any time the city asks for federal funds for a project they need to complete one of the reviews, and this review found the WSCC would have no significant impact on human environment.

Bedessem says there are specific categories which HUD makes them look at such as if it would impact a water source of the natural habitat of a species, but since its the tear down and building of a structure on a parking lot none of that factors into this one.

Bedessem says public comments may be submitted on the notice until August 1st.
