The 3rd Annual Black Business Month Awards Ceremony recognized a number of local establishments in the Rock County area.

Rock County Jumpstart Executive Director Genia Stevens says the Legacy Award is given out to a long standing business which has also become a staple in the area, and this year Mr. B’s coffee and ice cream parlor took home that piece of hardware.

Stevens says its important to have awards ceremony’s like this because the recognition shows other businesses in the area that it’s possible to be successful even if they might be struggling.

Backyard Barbeque took home the Business of the Year award while Elite Rental Properties was honored with the Lotus Award.
