Heat index temperatures across Rock County are expected to hit well into the triple digits Wednesday, and county health officials are making sure people know how to stay cool.

County Communications Specialist Molly Mueller says they encourage people to stay indoors and the air condition if possible, limit strenuous activity outside, and if people can’t access the A/C they can take advantage of one of the cooling centers around the county.

Mueller says people will also need to keep an eye out for symptoms of heat related illnesses such as extremely high body temps, dehydration, muscle cramps, dizziness, or nausea.

A list of cooling centers around the county can be found by visiting the Rock County Public Health Facebook page.
