Local authorities are searching for man they say may have brandished a weapon at an Evansville daycare center.

According to a release, Evansville Police were dispatched to UCC Church, a day-care center, shortly after 11:30am Friday for a report of an armed subject.

The release says the reporting party alleged Dewayne A. Harnack entered into the childcare center and engaged with an ex-wife, is alleged to have brandished a knife and threatened to stab his ex-wife over a dispute of money.

The release says Harnack left prior to police arrival and is believed to be operating a Black 2015 Lincoln Navigator with Wisconsin plates AHC 9799.

The ex-wife and children were not hurt during the incident, and anyone with info on Harnack’s whereabouts are asked to contact the Rock County Communications Center.
