As they try to raise funds to move into a new downtown Janesville facility, the Rock County Children’s Museum crosses a major milestone.
Chair of the Capital Campaign John Westphal says as of Thursday evening they’ve raised $4.7 million towards their $8 million goal, but they’re hoping to raise even more than that so they can build a first class museum.
Westphal says he’s continually humbled by people in the community and the majority of the donations coming from what they call cornerstone donors, who have donated thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The museum is slated to be located in the former First National Bank building on West Milwaukee Street.
