Daemon Hanna, the 28 year old Beloit man who was convicted of fatally shooting Jordan Jefferson, receives his sentence in Rock County court.
Judge John Wood says after taking everything into consideration, including Hanna’s lack of empathy and actions, including an outburst in court Friday morning where he laughed during a victim’s statement, led him to the decision to hand down a sentence of mandatory life in prison without the possibility of extended supervision.
Jefferson was shot on the night of March 30, 2021 in the 1300 block of West Grand Avenue after a supposed dispute over a car ride.
Hanna was found guilty by a jury of first degree intentional homicide in June.
