Members of the Rock County Board of Supervisor’s Public Safety and Justice Committee and the Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force appear to be butting heads.
The Public Safety and Justice Committee approved a resolution Tuesday allocating $1.5 million in ARPA funding to build a homeless shelter for victims of human trafficking.
Supervisor Mike Zoril says a resolution that goes before before the County Board Thursday night that establishes a policy and commitment to oppose human trafficking is mostly symbolic.
A spokesperson with the Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force says they were not consulted about the resolution and a press release Wednesday morning was the first they have heard.
