Community Action’s Fresh Start Youth Build program is benefiting both the community and the kids taking part in the program.

Executive Director Marc Perry says the program helps kids get regain credits so they can graduate high school, fulfill necessary community hours they may need, and then has them build a new home which is then sold to a family in the community.

Perry says it’s an opportunity for the youth to re-engage and give back to the community, while also promoting home ownership and highlighting the importance of service learning.

An open house Tuesday from 4 to 6pm will showcase a newly built house located at 1312 Nelson Avenue in Beloit.
