The Janesville City Council decided to repeal a COVID era ordinance on outdoor dining during their Monday night meeting.
City Clerk Lori Stottler says only a minority of businesses, 11 total, will be impacted by the repeal, with 47 different unique businesses that have current outdoor seating not being impacted by the repeal.
Stottler says they found that because they are at the end of the season, they recommended the repeal, and businesses who feel they will be impacted by the repeal can re-apply, and they will send them through the proper channels and have them set up in time for the Spring.
Stottler says they believe on two or three businesses will be “heavily” impacted by the repeal of the ordinance.
