Two bills introduced my State Senator Mark Spreitzer of Beloit hope to increase access to epinephrine.

Spreitzer says the first bill comes directly from a constituent who was stung by hornets and the responding ambulance didn’t have access to the life saving drug, so the bill would reimburse ambulance drivers so they can have epinephrine on board.

Spreitzer says things like name brand epipens can be expensive, so the second bill allows pharmacists to substitute a less costly epinephrine products for patients unless a prescriber indicates otherwise.

Spreitzer introduced the bills alongside Democratic Representative Robyn Vining of Wauwatosa.
