Resident of Beloit got some new details on a new multi-use path project coming to busy corridor.

City Engineer Scott Prindiville says the proposed path will be between Milwaukee Road and Cranston Road along Lee Lane and will include a 10-foot wide paved path to accommodate bicycles and pedestrians.

Prindiville says they had originally planned to acquire some land for the path from someone willing to sell, but the landowner changed their mind and won’t be selling, so the city will need to cut down four trees to make the path possible.

Prindiville says the city has committed to replace the trees with eight new ones, and they expect the project to be completed by September of 2024.
