A local non-profit is looking to shed its underutilized downtown Janesville building.
United Way Blackhawk Regional President and CEO Mary-Fanning Penny says they currently only use 22 percent of their facility at 205 North Main Street.
In the past, small non-profits occasionally leased offices from United Way, but rental interest has waned post-pandemic as teams pivoted to remote work models.
Fanning-Penny says the 8,100 square foot building has a listing price of $625,000.
The plan is to to relocate to a smaller space between Janesville and Beloit.
Fanning-Penny says the decision to sell the building is strategic and not indicative of any kind of financial hardship.
