The Janesville Art League is ringing in the new year with a celebration of all things city.

Kurt Buggs says the art league’s first show this year, “City Dreams,” focuses on scenes of vibrant city life in huge metros and smaller cities like Janesville.

Buggs says the show, the first of seven planned shows the league will host this year, could have some artistic surprises that celebrate Janesville’s own cityscape.

He says some of the works featured could depict downtown landmarks such as Janesville’s historic Monterey Hotel and a former railroad-side warehouse now called The Gray Goose.

The show runs January 9th to March 3rd, and its opening reception runs January 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Janesville Performing Arts Center Gallery at 408 South Main Street. Artwork is for sale, but the show’s free for anybody to attend.
