With as many as six candidates eyeing a run for three open city council seats this April, the Milton City Council will meet Thursday to decide if they’ll pursue a primary.
Milton City Clerk Jenny Salvo says the city has no set policy on how many city council candidates would trigger a primary.
In the past, she says the council has decided on whether to run a primary on a case by case basis.
Salvo says having five or six people who could run is evidence of an engaged, interested field of candidates.
The council meeting comes one day ahead of the deadline for the city to file for a primary. Today is the last day for any Milton candidate to return nomination papers.
