The City of Janesville is responding to the recent mass eviction of more than 100 families by local property owners Richard and Mary Donahue.

City Manager Kevin Lahner says a special meeting Friday at the Boys and Girls Club is only for those impacted by the evictions and aims to connect them with resources and providers that can help them.

Lahner says it’s a terribly unfortunate situation, and one of the reasons Donahue is doing it this way is a recent United States DOJ sexual harassment settlement said he and his wife Mary Donahue could no longer manage rental properties.

Donahue issued 28-day citations to dozens of families last month and received $23,000 worth of citations from the city for a multitude of code violations.
