A 37-year-old Beloit man is accused of giving a 14-year-old drugs and getting her pregnant.

David Lavelle Hamlet is charged in Rock County Court with first degree sexual assault, second degree sexual assault of a child under 16, and distribution of narcotics to minors.

According to the criminal complaint Hamlet got the girl “hooked” on Molly in August of 2023 and at some point tried to have sex with her.

The teen told police she thought Hamlet sexually assaulted her while she was asleep and “high” on Molly. She reported the assault when she found out she was pregnant.

According to the criminal complaint, a DNA test linked Hamlet to the crime.

He is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
