Downtown Janesville will have one less transportation option this summer.

Assistant to the City Manager Nick Faust says the company that has been providing rental electric scooters in downtown Janesville for the last two years is experiencing financial difficulties.

As a result, Bird announced says it’s pulling its electric rental scooters out of the Janesville market.

Faust says last year over 10,000 trips were taken on Bird Scooters in Janesville, with one person even using them daily for his commute.

Faust says Bird had an incredibly responsible local contractor who was in the top three percent for responsiveness when it came to problems with the scooters.
