A bench warrant is issued for a 52-year-old Beloit man accused of punching the cop who was trying to arrest him for operating while intoxicated, after he fails to show up for his court trial Monday morning.

Aaron C. Turner is charged in Rock County Court with OWI fifth offense, operating with a prohibited alcohol content, fifth offense, battery to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, operating while revoked, and resisting an officer.

Janesville Police and Fire responded to a possible traffic accident with injury in the 1500 block of Parker Court in April of 2023.

The caller said a man had crashed a motorcycle and was attempting to break into a residence.

Arriving officers found Turner intoxicated on the side of the home, and when they attempted to take him into custody, he struck an officer multiple times.

Turner had been free on a signature bond while awaiting his trial which was supposed to start at 8:30 Monday morning.
