Northern Rock County residents no longer have to drive to Beloit of Janesville to access free NARCAN and fentanyl test strips.

Rock County Public Health Strategist Shari Faber says a new newspaper-box style vending is located at Lakeside Fire-Rescue District headquarters in downtown Edgerton.

Faber says the Rock County Public Health Department continues to see fentanyl overdoses linked to cocaine that had been unknowingly laced with the deadly synthetic opiate.

Free NARCAN vending machines are also available in several other locations in Rock County including the Rock County Jail the Beloit Public Library, and HealthNet.
