The 64-year-old Beloit man accused of running a crack house on Porter Avenue where women had sex for drugs and money while possibly being unknowingly filmed would like to have his cash bond reduced.
Dennis Hereford appeared before Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag this week on charges of maintaining a drug trafficking place, keeping a place of prostitution, and human trafficking.
Hoag told Hereford that he needs to file a petition for appointment of attorney if he doesn’t qualify for a public defender.
Hereford reportedly suffers from stage 4 cancer and is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $5000 cash bond. He’s due back in court for a bail hearing Thursday.
