A 40-year-old Beloit woman will spend more than three years behind bars for setting her own home on fire, and trying to run a man over in her car in two separate cases.

In Rock County Court this week Lynell Betts plead guilty to first degree recklessly endangering safety, operating while intoxicated third and fourth offense, and arson.

Additional charges of criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, two counts of bail jumping, and two counts of operating with a prohibited alcohol content were dismissed but read into the record.

According to the criminal complaint, Betts admitted setting fire to the home she rented on Carlyle Road in December of 2023.

In March Betts is accused of trying to run a man down with her car after she backed into him.
