The City of Beloit’s Park, Recreation and Conservation Advisory Commission will decide the fate of the old bathhouse at Turtle Creek Park.

Director of Parks and Recreation Tonya Johann said in June 2018, an ad-hoc committee was established with members of the public who heavily utilized the park to create a five-phase master plan to revitalize the park.

Johann said the first phase, completed in 2019, included construction of a new shelter, additional parking stalls and an entrance to the park from Park Avenue.

In addition to demolition of the bathhouse, the second phase of the master plan includes new restrooms, a bike oasis, signage, kiosk, and an art installation to pay homage to the history of the park.

The commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Water Resources & Engineering Facility, 2400 Springbrook Court.
