The first snow of the season comes with gusty winds that could make rural travel a hassle in Rock County.
The Rock County 911 Center reports Highway 59 at Clear Lake Road north of Milton is blocked. This is after a county plow truck apparently went off the road and clipped utility lines.
The county reports the stretch of Highway 59 is closed this morning to deal with the utility emergency.
More snow is expected throughout the morning and afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 30s.
The National Weather Service has predicted up to 2 inches of snow accumulation in southern Wisconsin.
The agency says the biggest challenge motorists will have, though, comes as winds hit 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
That could make visibility poor, with blowing snow in some areas.
The National Weather Service warns that overpasses and bridges could become slick as the temperature hovers around freezing.
And the agency warns motorists with taller vehicles that windy conditions could make handling their vehicle more difficult.
