Local employers prepare for the job market to pick up in January.

According to the Department of Workforce Development, Wisconsin’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November remained at 2.9 percent, which is 1.3 percent below the national rate of 4.2 percent.

Rock County Job Center Business Services Manager Gail Graham says despite this, there will still be over 26 employers at an upcoming job fair.

The event on January 14th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Rock County Job Center will feature over 300 job openings.

Graham says if you don’t have a resume yet, you should come a couple days in advance to get that done.
