Rock County Historical Society isn’t dishing many details yet, but the non-profit local history museum operator has a new director.

In an email, the Historical Society confirms Kathe Crowley Conn is the Historical Society’s new executive director.

The Historical Society confirms Crowley Conn is transitioning from work as a communications consultant for public programs and events. Crowley Conn will make her entrance to the Historical Society and the Lincoln-Tallman Restorations in May.

According to online bios, Crowley Conn leads We Think Big, a nonprofit consulting firm that works with nonprofit museum groups and others who plan educational public events.

She spent 18 years at the helm of the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona. Prior to that, Crowley Conn’s bio says she worked in leadership roles in communications and programming for Chicago Museums.

She replaces outgoing executive director Tim Maahs, who left the Historical Society in December.
