A long-time GM bar in Janesville changes ownership as the former plant site continues to be cleared.
Andrew Sigwell sold Zoxx 411 Club to Andrew Wilson, who was already a regular bartender at the establishment.
Sigwell said the bar will keep the Zoxx name and generally won’t change much. He plans to hang around and help Wilson with the transition as the two enter a land contract for $240,000.
He said he offered to sell the property to the owners of the former General Motors site but they couldn’t reach an agreement.
Sigwell bought the bar a few years before the plant closed, and he successfully transitioned the business from a four-day-a-week factory bar to a full seven-day-a-week tavern.
The Janesville Alcohol License Advisory Committee voted Tuesday morning on the liquor license for the new owner.
