Janesville police help the Wisconsin State Patrol and Madison police arrest a wanted suspect fleeing officers on the interstate.

40-year-old Shani Young of Madison was wanted for domestic battery and child abuse charges when she fled police at high speeds on the southbound interstate Thursday night.

State patrol troopers successfully deployed “tire deflation devices” near Townline Road in Rock County, but police said Young kept driving on deflated tires before crashing into a concrete barrier near the southbound off ramp for Highway 14 in Janesville.

Witnesses reported the suspect fleeing the vehicle on foot to an adjacent parking lot. She left three children in the car, none of whom were injured in the crash.

Officers eventually found Young hiding under a semi-trailer in the parking lot and arrested her on charges including fleeing and eluding officers and reckless endangerment to children.
