Fire damages a home on Janesville’s northeast side.  Firefighters were called out just after 3:00 a.m. Wednesday to 2231 North Claremont Drive.  Officials say the 911 Emergency Dispatch Center was informed of the fire and called the elderly occupants of the home who were asleep.  Arriving police officers helped evacuate the couple who needed to be treated for smoke inhalation.  Officials say fire damage was contained to the garage, but the home does have some heat and smoke damage.
