The Janesville Board of Education votes seven to one this week to create the position of district-wide Athletic Director.

Assistant Superintendent Scott Garner says the position was eliminated in 2009 due to Act 10.

Under the new model building athletic directors would have the option to coach, something Garner says they are excited about.

The cost of adding the position, including salary and benefits is estimated at $85,000.
