A local non-profit is celebrating a pair of top recognitions in the charitable field. United Way Blackhawk Region has earned a four-out-or-four star rating from Charity Navigator for the seventh consecutive year, and a Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar for the sixth year in a row. United Way President and CEO Mary Fanning-Penny says the board of directors and staff are incredibly proud of the accomplishment and how it can symbolize to donors a gift to United Way is a prudent investment in the community.
